Experience staying at Nexus Resort Karambunai
Nexus Resort Karambunai
Located 30km North East of Kota Kinabalu (40 minutes drive from the city), Nexus Resort Karambunai is one of the well-known resorts among those who visit Kota Kinabalu and seek for tranquility. One of the highlights of this resort is definitely its location that is surrounded by a million year old tropical rainforest, a majestic Mount Kinabalu as its backdrop and close to white sandy beach.
When I arrived in the resort’s lobby, the staffs promptly assist me for the check-in which only took less than 10 minutes. Besides that, I truly admire the traditional touch (wooden interior) that been showcased as what you can see from the pictures above.
Well, without further do.. Let’s check out the room.
Ocean Panorama Room
I was arranged to stay at Ocean Panorama Room and indeed it was my favourite room as it offers us great views, with the private balcony facing the lush green garden and South China Sea. Perfect spot for me to enjoy my sunrise/sunset view at my own privacy. Its time to rejuvenate from the stressful daily life in the bustling city.
Hotel warm welcome tropical fruit plate. That is sweet!
Meanwhile, the bathroom has separated hot/cold shower and bathtub. There are also basic amenities (bathing essentials) provided for every guest’s comfort.
Well, feel free to pamper yourself in the bathtub if you don’t feel like going out from the room. Total relaxation!
Besides Ocean Panorama, this resorts also showcases Borneo Garden Deluxe, Executive Suite and Royal Villa.
NOTE: Wi-Fi is not available in the room (You may loan a WiFi device from front desk and deposit is required). Else you may enjoy unlimited Wi-Fi connection around major spots like swimming pool, F&B and in the lobby.

Besides swimming, guests could also enjoy some snacks and refreshing drinks from the Splashes Pool Bar.
Looking for fun and adventurous activities to enjoy while staying in this resort? There are several activities provided for the resort’s in-house guests to choose from. One of those are complimentary table tennis game and beach volley ball.
Table tennis to enjoy – guests may loan the equipment from the gym which is located beside this table tennis area.
Having a vacation is not an excuse for you to skip your healthy routine. Therefore, the resort’s gym got its comprehensive array of equipment for the guests to use and stay fit.
Location: Adjacent to the Borneo Spa (Level 1) – near the parking lot.
Borneo Spa
What better way to end our fun day? Time to get pampered at the Borneo Spa!
I was told my spa session will be at 7.30 p.m. After done with the outdoor activities, I went back to my room to refresh myself. I get pretty excited since I have been travelling to few places and its been a while since the last time I did a massage. Well, this is the time!
Known as ‘a tranquil haven for the senses’, Borneo Spa offers a great relaxation of body, mind and spirit through its wide array treatments inspired from previous traditions of natural healing from East and West.
Besides, the spa also has its own label of essential oils including Dari Borneo (Signature oil, used to stimulate, balance and invigorate), Borneo Laut (A blend to ease respiratory congestion and fluid retention), Borneo Spice (A blen to creat harmony and tranquility), Borneo Relax (for calm and relax) and Borneo Passion (to open one’s heart and evoke passion).
Had a cup of hot tea after the massage and went back to my room. I need more sleep after had so much fun day around the resort today. That’s all for my first story about stay-experience at Nexus Resort Karambunai. Next entry will be about the culinary. Stay tuned!
