The session was attended by some local authorities including Davao City Councilor, Al Ryan Alejandre, AirAsia Philippines CEO, Captain Dexter Comendador, Chef JP Anglo, local media members from Cebu, Manila, Davao as well as some Malaysian bloggers including myself.
Back to the menu topic. What’s interesting (though I reckon some of you might find it pretty odd) about the menu? As the name suggests, it was actually a roasted chicken served with rice and an award-winning local chocolate brand.
Wait! Chocolate, really? How come?

Roasted Dalandan Chicken
I was quite curious about the menu as we are aware that chocolate doesn’t go in line really well with any rice-based dish. So, I gave myself a chance to taste it during the exclusive preview.
This menu consists of a fragrant garlic rice served with thin slices of bell peppers, Dalandan– flavoured roasted chicken paired with a pimiento sauce made with Malagos chocolate, an internationally recognised chocolate originated from the Philippines specifically in Davao. You can literally taste a chocolate sweetness (in moderate amount) and a twist of zesty flavor at the same time. How cool is that?
The taste? Not bad. Pretty sure chocolate lover will going to love it!
Chef JP Anglo said he was happy and excited to share his first dish exclusively made for an airline, which AirAsia. He loves how AirAsia brings Filipino home grown products and talents to greater heights.
Acknowledging the local talents, that’s what we want. Kudos AirAsia!
