Tips to create a good lighting

Wednesday, please end as fast as you can. I am tired of waiting. Another new topic for my new entry, and its related with photography and lighting. Go and take your simple notebook and get a cute and simple pencil. Jot this down.

Let me show it one by one. This topic was developed from one of my syllabus in Photography’s department which is Commercial Illustration Photography handled by Madam Nor Fariza. By the way, she’s that way too cool and very sporting lecturer though.

Here i got this 5 types of lighting and its diagram.

Teknik pengcahayaan ini kebiasaannya digunakan untuk buat shooting bertemakan korporat. Ia akan menimbulkan sedikit effect dekat muka model or subjek utama tu. Sebagai contoh, gambar di atas tu. Terdapat nilai shadow pada bahagian kiri muka model dan terdapat lebih cahaya dekat bahagian sebelah kanan model tu. This will show the more matured lighting which is balance. There’s no over and under expose.

This gonna be one of my favorite lighting ever. Yeah, it shows the con and different of distance of the model between the background. This kind of lighting usually used for a masculine model with a big bone and body structure. Biasanya, dengan lighting seperti ini ia akan lebih menampakkan texture dan bentuk tulang serta anggota badan seseorang tu.

Get this clear, this kind of lighting doesn’t require you to own a butterfly. Its just the name. This lighting will show a shape or shadow of butterfly below the model’s nose. Terus terang, untuk dapatkan effect yang ini memang agak payah kerana kita sendiri terpaksa memerlukan seorang pembantu untuk memegang set lighting tu untuk dipancarkan cahaya lampu tu dari atas kepala si model. Susah, tapi agak lega bila berjaya dapat apply effect tu dalam gambar kita. Cubalah! 🙂

Dalam semua jenis teknik pengcahayaan yang aku belajar, teknik ini merupakan antara teknik yang senang dan ringkas. Tambahan pula, teknik yang ini cuma memerlukan satu sahaja sumber cahaya atau lighting set. Percaya atau tidak, tetap effect yang dihasil ataupun cahaya yang terhasil itu adalah lebih dramatik. Teknik pengcahayaan ini lebih sesuai untuk ekspresi muka yang tenang tanpa memerlukan sebarang ekspresi yang lebih.

Lighting yang ini boleh dikatakan lighting yang agak stylo. Juga, lighting jenis ini telah banyak dan selalu digunakan dalam gambar-gambar yang dipublish dalam mana-mana majalah. Its more to called as ‘Glamour lighting’. Lighting ini juga lebih menarik diaplikasikan kepada model yang mempunyai rambut panjang dan berwarna. Nak tahu kenapa? Cubalah untuk aplikasikan triangle lighting ni! 🙂
